Leadralia

Leadralia vs Hunter.io: finding an email, or finding the businesses

Hunter finds the email behind a domain you already know. Leadralia finds the businesses first, then the verified email, then writes the outreach. Which one fits your work.

Hunter.io and Leadralia both put an email address in your hand at the end. They start at opposite ends of the problem, and that is the whole story.

Hunter starts from a domain. You give it a company or a website, and it returns the professional email addresses it has found for that domain, with a confidence score and a verifier to check them. Leadralia starts from a map. You give it a type of business and an area, and it returns every business in that area, each with a verified email address already attached.

So the question is not which tool is better. It is which half of the job you are missing. If you already know which companies you want to reach, the hard part is done and you need named contacts at them. If the list itself is the hard part, an email finder cannot start until you have built that list somewhere else first.

In short. Hunter is the better tool when the list of companies already exists and you need named people at them, an API, or larger organisations. Leadralia is the better tool when that list is the missing piece: it finds the businesses in an area, finds and verifies the email for free, and writes the first message.

The table below fills in the detail behind those marks.

Reading the table row by row

Starting point

This is the row that decides everything below it. Hunter answers "who works at this company and what is their address". Leadralia answers "which companies exist here at all".

If you sell to bakeries in Lyon, no domain search helps you, because you do not yet know which bakeries exist or what their websites are. If you sell enterprise software and your target list came from a funding database, Hunter is exactly the tool for turning those 300 domains into 300 named contacts.

What you get

Hunter returns addresses tied to a domain, usually with a name, a job title and a confidence score. That is contact data on a company you already chose.

Leadralia returns the business itself: name, address, phone number, website, rating and review count, with the email address found from the business's own website. It is the market, not the contact card.

Data source

Hunter maintains an index of the public web and says it analyses millions of pages a day for professional contact information. That index is a stock: broad, deep on companies with a web presence, refreshed on Hunter's own schedule.

Leadralia holds no stored list at all. Every search reads the map at that moment, so a business that opened last month is in your results and one that closed is not. That is the trade: Hunter has reach across the web, Leadralia has freshness in one area.

Verification

Both verify. Hunter sells verification as a separate action, at half a credit per address, and offers auto-verification on paid plans.

Leadralia finds the email and verifies it for €0.00, before the address can be used at all. Verification is not a line on the bill; it is a condition of the address existing in your list.

Pricing model

Hunter is a subscription: you pick a credit tier and it renews. Credits are spent as you search and verify, and they reset with the month. Hunter also offers bulk credit purchases through its Data Platform for people who want volume without a fixed monthly commitment.

Leadralia is pay-as-you-go by default. You top up a wallet and pay per result: €0.02 for a business found, €0.00 for its verified email, €0.05 to send an email through Leadralia (refunded automatically if the send fails), €0.02 to reveal an address for use elsewhere. A business you already have costs €0.00 in any later search, forever. The balance never expires, and every search carries a spending limit you set.

Leadralia also has optional plans if you are there every week, from €19 a month, with the same features in every tier.

Entry price

Hunter's first paid tier is €49 a month, or €34 a month on yearly billing, for 2,000 credits. Growth is €149 a month (€104 yearly) for 10,000 credits and Scale is €299 a month (€209 yearly) for 25,000. Enterprise pricing is not published.

Leadralia's entry price is the price of one result. A €5 top-up finds 100 businesses with their verified addresses.

Free tier

Hunter's free plan gives 50 credits a month, one connected email account and 500 recipients per sequence.

Leadralia's free tier is 25 searches and 10 email sends a month, without a card. A search is not one business: it is a sweep of an area, so those 25 go a long way further than 25 lookups.

Outreach

This is closer than people expect. Hunter includes campaigns in its plans, with one connected mailbox on Free and up to twenty on Scale, plus an AI writing assistant on paid tiers.

Leadralia writes the message from a one-sentence description of your offer, shows you the exact audience and the exact cost before anything is sent, and sends from your own mailbox (Gmail or Outlook by OAuth, any SMTP mailbox, or your own domain). Every message ends with a one-line source sentence and a simple way to say no (send "no" to the address at the bottom), and replies land in an inbox inside Leadralia.

API

Hunter has an API on every plan, including the free one, and a separate Data Platform built around it. If you want email finding inside your own product or your own CRM sync, that is a real advantage and Leadralia has no answer to it.

Leadralia has no API, no browser extension and no Zapier or CRM integration. You work in the interface and export to Excel or CSV.

Compliance

Both companies take this seriously and both are honest about their sourcing.

Hunter crawls the public web, discloses the public sources for each address, respects robots.txt, lets anyone claim and delete their own address, and removes addresses whose public source has disappeared after six months.

Leadralia uses public business data only: the business's public listing and its own website. No bought databases, no data brokers, no personal profiles. Every message ends with a one-line source sentence and a simple way out (send "no" to the address at the bottom; mail to Belgium also carries an unsubscribe link), and a business can remove itself instantly through a self-serve portal. Leadralia works under GDPR.

Who it suits

Hunter suits the person whose list already exists. Leadralia suits the person whose list does not.

When to choose which

Choose Hunter when:

  • You already have the companies or the domains, and you need named people at them.
  • You want an API, or email finding embedded in your own tooling.
  • You sell to larger organisations with staffed websites, where a named contact and a job title matter more than the company's phone number.

Choose Leadralia when:

  • The list is the missing piece: every dental clinic in Milan, every garage in a province, every hotel on a coastline.
  • You want complete coverage of an area rather than the companies you happened to think of.
  • You sell to local businesses, where the map is the market and the website is small.
  • You do not want a subscription, and you would rather pay for results than for a monthly allowance you may not use.
  • You want the outreach in the same tool as the list, written, approved and sent without an export step.
  • You work outside the usual markets: Leadralia covers 195 countries, down to a single street.

Some teams use both, and it is a sensible combination: Leadralia to find and reach the long tail of businesses in a territory, Hunter to work the named accounts they already decided to chase.

Frequently asked questions

Can Hunter give me a list of businesses in a city?

Hunter's Discover feature searches a B2B company database with filters, so you can build company lists inside it. It is a database of companies with a web footprint, not a live sweep of a map, so for local businesses in a specific area the two will not return the same thing. Leadralia queries the map at the moment of the search, which is why an independent shop that opened last month shows up.

Is Leadralia cheaper than Hunter?

It depends on the shape of the work, not on a headline number. Hunter's Starter plan is €49 a month for 2,000 credits whether you use them or not. Leadralia charges €0.02 per business found and €0.00 for the verified email, with no monthly floor, so a quiet month costs almost nothing. At high, steady volume against domains you already hold, a Hunter credit tier can be the better unit price.

Do I still need a separate sending tool?

Not with either one. Hunter includes campaigns with connected mailboxes on every plan, and Leadralia sends by email from your own mailbox with unsubscribe handling and a reply inbox built in. The difference is what you are sending to: a list you imported, or a list the tool just built for you.

Bottom line

Hunter.io is a strong email finder and verifier with a real API, a genuine web index behind it, and campaigns attached. If you arrive with company names or domains, it does its job well, and for larger organisations and developer workflows it does things Leadralia does not do at all.

Leadralia is for the step before that: when the list does not exist yet. It finds every business of a type in an area anywhere in the world, finds and verifies the email for free, and helps you write and send the first message, charging per result with no subscription.

If your bottleneck is "which companies should I even be contacting", run one search for free and see what comes back. The first 25 searches need no card. If you want the full picture of how it works first, read what Leadralia does.
