Leadralia vs Google Maps scrapers: a finished product or a raw export

How Leadralia compares with Outscraper, PhantomBuster and Apify: what each one hands you, what the email really costs, and which of them you should actually pick.

A Google Maps scraper gives you a spreadsheet. That is not a criticism, it is the product: a fast, cheap export of map listings you can sort, filter and feed into whatever you like. If you are technical and you want raw data at volume, it is the right tool.

The trouble starts the moment you want to contact those businesses. A map listing rarely carries an email address, so you buy an email finder. Found addresses bounce, so you buy a verifier. Then you need a sending tool, and unsubscribes, transparency notices and removal requests are still yours to handle. Four products, four bills, one pipeline to maintain.

Leadralia is the other answer to the same question: the whole chain in one place. This article compares it honestly with three of the best known scraping tools, and says plainly where a scraper wins.

Custom fields and API neither today fields you configure per Phantom Actor input and code

In short. Leadralia suits you if you want to write to the businesses you find: the address is found and verified, you approve the message, and the source line and the way to say no travel inside it. A scraper suits you if you want raw records at volume and your own fields, you already have somewhere to put them, and you do not mind adding the email finder, the verifier and the sending tool yourself.

Every row is explained in the sections below, and the table that follows gives the same comparison in plain sentences.

What you actually get

Outscraper sells data as a service. You give it a query, it returns records, you download them. No monthly fee, simple interface.

Apify is a marketplace and a runtime. You pick an Actor from the store, give it input, and it runs on Apify's infrastructure. The most used Google Maps Actor publishes a price from $1.50 per 1,000 scraped places. It is built for people comfortable configuring a job and handling the output themselves.

PhantomBuster is closer to automation than to bulk export. Phantoms extract data and perform actions on the platforms it supports, on a schedule, with your connected accounts.

Leadralia sells the finished job. You type a kind of business and a place, the search sweeps that exact area on the map, and results stream in with name, address, phone, website, rating and reviews. Because every search reads the map at that moment, there is no stored list behind it: a business that opened last month is already in the results. Then the email is attached, the AI writes the first message, and replies come back into an inbox in the same product. For the full walkthrough, read what Leadralia does.

Email quality and verification

This is the row that decides most of the cost, and the one that is easiest to gloss over.

A map listing gives you a website, not an email address. Some tools fill that gap by guessing from a pattern: first name, dot, last name, at the domain. That produces addresses that look plausible and bounce, and bounces damage your sending reputation.

Leadralia finds the address behind each business from the business's own website, for free, while the search runs, and verifies it for deliverability before it can be used. Nothing is guessed. If no working address exists, the field stays empty instead of being filled with a hope. You pay only when you use an address: €0.05 to send through Leadralia, or €0.02 to reveal it and use it elsewhere.

With the scrapers, finding and verifying are separate, paid steps. Outscraper publishes them as separate services: email and contact extraction at $3 per 1,000 domains after the first 500 free, and email verification at $3 per 1,000 emails after the first 25 free. PhantomBuster includes email discovery credits in each plan, 500 on the entry plan. On Apify it depends entirely on which Actor you run.

None of that is hidden or unfair. It is simply a second and a third purchase, with a second and a third set of limits and failure modes to manage.

Setup, and what it costs you in time

Leadralia asks for nothing: no install, no API key, no browser extension. You sign up with email or Google, type a business type and a place, and set a spending limit for the search.

The scrapers all ask for real configuration. With Outscraper that is mostly query and field selection, which is quick. With Apify it is choosing the right Actor, setting its input, and usually writing something to join, deduplicate and clean the output. With PhantomBuster it is connecting accounts, configuring each Phantom and scheduling the runs.

If you enjoy that work, or you have an engineer who does, it buys flexibility a finished product cannot match. If you do not, it is a project standing between you and your first email.

Pricing model and entry price

The models are genuinely different, so compare them on your own volume rather than on the headline number.

Scrapers price per 1,000 records or per run, which is cheap per raw record. At $3 per 1,000 records, Outscraper's medium tier is far below €0.02 per business. That comparison is fair only if a raw record is what you need. Add extraction, verification and a sending tool, and the gap narrows considerably.

Leadralia prices per finished result: €0.02 per business found with phone, website, rating and reviews, €0.00 for finding and verifying its email, €0.05 per email sent (refunded if the send fails), €0.02 to reveal an address. A business you already have is €0.00 in any later search, forever, so overlapping searches and monthly re-scans do not charge you twice. Top up from €5 by card, and the balance never expires.

The safety valve matters as much as the rate: every search has a spending limit you set, and the search stops at your number. A run cannot surprise you. The worked example on the site: 1,000 businesses (€20), all 1,000 emails found and verified (€0), emailing the best 500 (€25). Total €45, from empty screen to 500 inboxes.

On subscriptions: Apify's Starter is $19 a month and its free plan carries $5 of monthly usage credit. PhantomBuster's free plan gives 30 minutes of execution time a month, the Start plan is $69 a month, and there is a 14-day free trial with no card. Outscraper has no monthly fee at all. Leadralia needs no subscription either; optional plans exist for heavy users, and the free tier covers 25 searches and 10 email sends a month without a card.

Outreach and compliance

A scraper's job ends when the file is written. Everything after that is yours: the sending tool, the templates, the unsubscribe handling, the suppression list, the record of who asked to be left alone. If you email businesses in Europe you need a defensible data basis, a working opt-out and a transparency notice, and a spreadsheet gives you none of those.

Leadralia keeps that machinery inside the product. Every record comes from what a business publishes about itself: its public listing and its own website, with no bought databases and no data brokers. Every message ends with a one-line source sentence (the business details come from public online sources) and a simple way out: send "no" to the address at the bottom and nothing more arrives (mail to Belgium also carries an unsubscribe link). A business can ask to be removed through a self-serve portal and it happens instantly. Leadralia works under GDPR.

The sending side is yours too, in the way that helps deliverability: emails go out from your own mailbox, Gmail or Outlook by OAuth, any SMTP mailbox, or your own domain. Hard bounces are remembered, so the same dead address is never paid for twice.

When a scraper is the right choice

Be honest about what you are building. A scraper is the better tool when:

  • You want raw data at volume. Tens of thousands of records, cheapest per row, no opinions attached.
  • You need custom fields or sources. Scrapers can be configured for things a finished product deliberately does not collect.
  • You are feeding another system. If the destination is your own database, warehouse or CRM enrichment job, you want a file and an API, not a campaign tool.
  • You have engineering time. Someone who can maintain the job and clean the output will get more out of Apify than out of any packaged product.
  • Contacting people is not the goal. Market research, location analysis, competitive mapping: no email needed, so none of Leadralia's chain is worth paying for.

If two or three of those describe you, pick the scraper and do not look back.

Questions people ask

Is Leadralia just a scraper with a nicer interface?

No. The difference is the chain: complete coverage of an area read live from the map, the business email found from the business's own website and verified before a send is possible, AI outreach you approve, sending from your own mailbox, replies in an inbox, and the compliance obligations handled in the product.

Can I use Leadralia for the data only?

Yes. Export to Excel or CSV, see leads on a map, keep a status, a note and a follow-up date on each one. Emails are masked until you send through Leadralia or reveal them for €0.02.

Which is cheaper?

Per raw record, the scrapers are. Per contactable, verified lead with the outreach done, run the arithmetic for your own volume: add the export, the email finder, the verifier and the sending tool, then compare with €0.02 plus €0.00 plus €0.05.

Bottom line

Choose a scraper if you are technical, you want raw records at volume or custom fields, and you already have somewhere to put them. Outscraper is the simplest of the three to buy, Apify is the most flexible, PhantomBuster is the one to look at if scheduled automations on supported platforms are what you want.

Choose Leadralia if what you want is not a file but a conversation: every business of a type in an area you choose, a verified email for each, a message you approve, sent from your own mailbox, with the source line and the way to say no already in it. One product, one bill, one spending limit per search.
